CELEBRATION, Fla., Feb. 17, 2016 — Dr. Vipul Patel, a global leader in robotic-assisted surgery, is celebrating an important milestone this month in the fight against prostate cancer. Patel, who is medical director of the AdventHealth Global Robotics Institute at AdventHealth Celebration, is performing his 9,000th robotic prostatectomy.
“The 9,000th robotic prostatectomy represents a significant milestone in our program. We continue to improve and continuously innovate,” Dr. Patel said. “Our experience is now unsurpassed worldwide and our commitment to individualized and excellent patient care continues to grow stronger.”
Dr. Patel has operated on patients from all 50 states and more than 30 countries – from Angola to Venezuela -- on six continents.

“The more you do something, like shooting baskets, the more you shoot the better you get. If I shoot a ball for 10 or 12 years, I'm going to be an expert at it,” Robertson said. “And Dr. Patel has done so many of these procedures, there’s no doubt he’s an expert in my mind. I’m very happy with the results,” Robertson said of his experience with Dr. Patel.
