Global Robotics DaVinci
Gynecologic Surgeon

Meet Robert W. Holloway, MD

Dr. Holloway has earned the respect of his colleagues as a consultant gynecologic oncologist and gynecologic surgeon. In 2007 Dr. Holloway was named "Surgeon of the Year" by the Orange County Medical Society and each year since 2005 he has been voted “Best Doctor” in Orlando by his peers. Dr. Holloway is recognized internationally for his robotic surgery skills.

Dr. Holloway routinely travels as a course director and speaker at robotic symposia including university programs in South America, Europe, and Japan. American and International surgeons frequently attend advanced training courses at AdventHealth under his direction, and post-graduate Fellows in the 3-year gynecologic oncology training program at AdventHealth graduate with expert surgical skills in the management of gynecologic cancer and complex benign pathology.

Together, da Vinci® surgery technology and your doctor have the ability to perform complex procedures through just a few small openings.

Recognized Internationally for Robotic Surgery

As a recognized expert in gynecologic oncology, Dr. Holloway is a featured presenter at GOG, ASCO, and SGO national conferences. In pursuit of medical excellence, Dr. Holloway is the principal investigator for several clinical trials and research projects. In collaboration with AdventHealth PhD scientists, he actively participates in the basic research of novel therapies for ovarian cancer. Dr. Holloway publishes scientific articles regularly and is an associate editor for the Journal of Robotic Surgery.

Dr. Holloway earned his medical degree from Vanderbilt University and completed a gynecology and oncology fellowship at Georgetown University Hospital. Even as co-medical director of AdventHealth Gynecologic Oncology, a founding member of AdventHealth's Global Robotic Institute, clinical professor at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine, Dr. Holloway insists his skills all come down to working with his hands, a trait he picked up while on the farm.
