SEBRING, Fla., — Over 200 people spent an afternoon filled with fun and excitement at AdventHealth Lake Placid as part of a community celebration, marking AdventHealth serving the Lake Placid community for 43 years. They also got a special tour of the newly upgraded facilities at the hospital and got to learn more about the many services offered there.
During the event, on Sunday May 18, AdventHealth team members spoke to attendees about the care options available at AdventHealth Lake Placid, which would make it easier for them to get the treatment they need without having to leave their community. That included local medical clinic offerings, inpatient services as well as outpatient services like imaging and lab services and sports medicine and rehab, which includes physical, speech and occupational therapy.
Members of the team at the AdventHealth Wellness Center in Lake Placid, which is next to the hospital, were also on hand to inform people about the facility, which features state-of-the-art equipment, personal trainers, dietary counseling, 25 group exercise classes weekly and more. People who came to the event also got to enjoy food provided by the exceptional hospital culinary team, music including a live performance from Walker Memorial Academy Steel Drum band, and a variety of games and activities.
“We are delighted so many of our friends and neighbors in the community were able to join us for this celebration and to get a look at the facility upgrades made at AdventHealth Lake Placid to better serve their needs,” said AdventHealth Lake Placid Executive Director and Administrator Justin Evans. “We’re honored to have been providing exceptional, whole-person care here since 1982 and we love being part of this community.”
People who attended the event also had the chance to tour newly completed multi-million dollar upgrades to the hospital. That includes modernized inpatient and surgical services units, which feature state-of-the-art operating rooms along with renovated preoperative and postoperative areas for care. There’s also a completely redesigned sterile processing department, a critical department responsible for cleaning medical equipment among other services as part of patient safety. A ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark a new era of clinical care for the community of Lake Placid will be held in the coming weeks.
These are just the latest improvements and additions to AdventHealth Lake Placid. Last year, AdventHealth leaders unveiled a new design for the hospital and emergency department lobbies for outpatient care services, featuring a modern, healing environment for improved staff efficiency, compassionate care and enhanced patient safety. The work also included a new Serenity Garden at the hospital which was fully supported by the AdventHealth Lake Placid Foundation and through generous support from our Heartland community.
